LIBRARY FACILITIES AT EDUCARE INSTITUTE OF DENTAL SCIENCES
The library is provided with a rich collection of national & international journals, reference materials, and academic books.
Students have access to more than
- 2300 books
with about 260 seating capacity.
The students and faculties can enhance their knowledge base using digital technology provided as well access to EBSCOhost research and scholarly journal database.
The students can utilize the reprographic section to photocopy documents for future reference.
Rules and Regulations
The college is spacious and has all the prescribed books by the Dental Council of India in sufficient numbers. A large collection of reference books are also available in every subject in Dentistry for the benefit of both the students and staff. Internet sections with 5 computers are dedicated for internet access and through tie-up with the Boston University Library; their library facilities are also available by internet. A good collection of books for general reading is also available. The CD section has educational CDs as well as entertainment CDs. Facilities for photocopying are available within the library. The library timing is from 8.00 AM to 10.00 PM on working days and on Sunday’s from 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM. The library rules and regulations are strictly enforced.
Library rules and regulations
The main objective of the library is to help the students gain additional knowledge.
All the students and staff are eligible to borrow books from library.
It is the responsibility of the students to enter their name, batch, in time and out time in the Visitors register kept in the library.
Books are issued subject to availability.
No student can keep the books issued to him/her for more than 3 days.
Books borrowed should be returned in good condition as soon as they are no longer required.
Fine will be levied for late return of books.
Any student who loses the book issued to him/her shall pay the cost of book as decided by the management.
It is the personal responsibility of the Students to see whether return entries are made in the issued register at the time of return.
Membership will be allowed to all students, teaching and paramedical staff. All persons, entering the premises of the library, are required to show, on demand, their identity cards to the Librarian/Asst. Librarian at the entrance.
Reference books and journals are not allowed to take out of the library. Every reader using the reference section of the library shall return the book(s) consulted either to the Librarian or anyone of his Assistants at the reference counter before leaving the library. Staff of the library working in the reference section will assist the reader in locating information and source on the subject of their study and research. Articles from books may be photocopied after paying the fee and taking receipt for the same. Whole books will not be permitted to be photocopied as it would violation of copy right.
Observe complete silence in and round the library.
Every reader entering the library should sign in the visitor's register kept for the purpose at the entrance to the library.
Personal books are not allowed in the library but in certain cases with the permission of the librarian, books may be taken in.
Writing or making any kind of mark in a book or a periodical is forbidden. Cutting or tearing of any photo or page from any publication is prohibited and if found a fine will be levied either individually or collectively.
Readers are not allowed to take their belongings and overcoats into the library, these are to be left in the property counter.
All library staff should be treated with respect.
All readers are required to observe discipline in the library and adhere to its rules and regulations.
The officer in charge of the library is authorized to terminate the membership of any user if he/she is found guilty of misconduct.
